The d&c itself is a very quick procedure. Will they be doing a lamineria placement to soften the cervix? If so, you may experience some cramping the night before.

For the procedure, I was under general anesthesia. I had very little cramping afterward, but I did bleed for about 2 weeks. I've had one d&c and three d&e's.

The physical recovery is a lot quicker than the emotional recovery. I'm sorry you're having to go through this. If you feel like you need to, post on the grief and loss board. The women there are very supportive and it's a bit more active than this board. We've all been where you are.
