3 blighted ovum??
Posted by freckles76 on 18:42 6/20/2007:
Here is my situation. I am 30 years old, happily married and have been pregnant 4 times in my life. 2000=blighted ovum d/c at 10 weeks 2001= healthy baby boy (who is now 6 yrs.) Dec.2006= blighted ovum/naturally miscarried at 11-12 weeks 2007= I am now 8 weeks pregnant and have had 2 trans vaginal u/s showing no signs of a anything...no yolk sac, no fetal pole...but my levels went from 26,000 to 48,000 in 48 hours...how can that happen?! The sac is about the size of 7wk 1days gestation...but nothing inside. I now have to try to decide whether to wait this thing out or go in for a d/c. I am concerned about making this decision before I am spotting...both previous times I was spotting...but then I was farther along to. It is hard to keep a positive outlook when the things happen like this. my question is-
Will I ever be able to have another baby? Can it be genetic since we have one healthy child together? Or am I just one of the few women out there that this happens to repeatedly at random? What are the odds that we will have a viable pregnancy after 3 blighted ovum, 2 within a year of each other? What can we do to increase our chances?
