GIVE US YOUR THOUGHTS ON POSSIBLE FORUM CHANGES (updated)

In light of these observations, discussions began regarding some possible changes to the forums. It is contemplated that these changes would be made when the move is made to the new format. There have been a lot of suggestions, and while nothing has been set in stone, the following are some of the changes being considered:

Infertility Forums
Each forum will have an assigned I Host.

Pregnancy Forums
The individual Pregnant, Due In Boards would be consolidated into Quarterly Boards. This would reduce the segregation that currently exists, and would allow each of the members to not only be mentored but also to mentor others due within the same time frame as themselves. The specialized pregnancy forums would remain unchanged, unless they are underutilized.

Parenting Forums (except Parent's Night Out)
To mirror the changes in the Pregnancy forums, the monthly Born in Boards would be consolidated into Quarterly Boards and from there the parents would move to a yearly Board. Again, the specialized Parenting forums would remain unchanged unless they are underutilized.

Adoption Forums
The Adoption Forums will have few changes. The board currently used by parents with both adopted and biological children, would be renamed to one that better defines the membership. Adoption forums not currently being used would be removed as well.

Childfree Forums
The Childfree by Choice forum will be renamed to something more appropriate.

Parent's Night Out, The Soapboxes
It has been suggested that since these forums do not directly support the mission of INCIID, they should be removed. It has also been suggested these boards be given a "trial run" on the new format, until it can be determined the volunteer hours needed to moderate them. If it becomes clear that these types of boards pull INCIID's focus away from its mission, they will then be removed. There has also been some discussion of eliminating the Parent's Night Out forum to one that can be utilized by all members of the site by making it a "child-free zone".

Lifestyles Forums
Boards that are currently being underutilized will be removed.

Grief and Loss Forums
There are no changes suggested at this time.

In order to allow for input from you, our valued members, we have set up an extensive survey that will give us your thoughts on the changes. Due to the fact we had a number of people who answered the survey indicate that they were not registered users, the survey is by invitation only. ALL REGISTERED MEMBERS OF INCIID WILL RECEIVE AN INVITATION. The email invitation will be sent to the address currently in our database. As you can imagine it is a time consuming process to enter this information but all members should receive an invitation by Sunday afternoon. If you do not received you invitation, it may be that your email information is incorrect. In this case please send your user name, name, address and phone number (so we can verify your information) and your correct email to hostadmin@inciid.org and we will update your information and get an invitation out to you. Simply click on the link in the email and you will go directly to the survey. You will not need to enter your user name or any other identifying information. If you completed the survey before the invitations were sent out, your results have been saved and there is no need to complete it again.

The survey will be available until Friday, July 1st. Once we have had time to review all of the results and comments, final decisions regarding the changes can be made, and will be communicated to you all. While we want to incorporate your opinions, the final decisions regarding any changes will be made by INCIID.

While we appreciate you encouraging your friends to take the survey, we ask that there be no discussion of the questions or the survey in general on the boards so that the boards are kept running smoothly. The survey includes an area for you to write in your concerns regarding the possible changes if they are not addressed directly by the survey.
