INCIID has lost a longtime friend and family member.

It is with deep sadness we alert you to the death of Alan E. Beer, M.D.
Dr. Beer was a dedicated physician; a kind and committed soul who will be sorely missed by his family, friends and patients. He was a true pioneer, innovator, and scientist. Alan Beer, was the founding "Father of Reproductive Immunology and he fought a fearless battle of determination and dedication to the plight of couples suffering through horrible losses. Patients often found Dr. Beer as their last hope. He wasn't afraid to standup many times alone and be counted for his beliefs against insurmountable odds.
This is a tragedy not only for the dear family he leaves behind but also for the many who might otherwise have been the beneficiaries of his kind and compassionate care as well as his extraordinary expertise.
I'll leave you with a quote often attached to his many emails:
"Innovators are rarely received with joy and established authorities launch into condemnation of newer truths, for at every crossroads to the future are a thousand self-appointed guardians of the past".
