27 weeks, complete placenta previa, previous history of loss (loss men

Posted by Christie_M on 16:45 3/31/2005:

I am 27 weeks pregnant and was diagnosed with a complete placenta previa today.

4 years ago, at 41 weeks, my water broke and my baby bled out because of undiagnosed vasa previa. He died two days later, after a crash c-section and life support.

My peri told me he'll see me again in six weeks to check to see if it has resolved. If not, he will do amnio at 36 weeks and if baby's lungs are mature take him by c-section. No mention of bedrest or even modified activity.

Should I be concerned more than I am? With my history, I am really easily freaked out and want to avoid any unneccesary risks.

Should I get a second opinion? I am really confused. I see my regular OB tomorrow.
