Enlarged ventricles
Posted by lost1 on 19:16 4/12/2005:
Hello. On my 24 week scan the baby looked normal, no problems noted. My OB did another scan today at 28 weeks and said she appeared to have enlarged ventricles in the brain. His readings came back between 10 and 11.5mm. He didn't really tell me much else except that we would follow up with another ultrasound in 2 weeks. He also said that when he had pressure on the head getting the measurements that her heart rate would drop. He said this was normal but kept going back and forth between the head and heart with and audible HR decrease. Can you tell me what I am looking at here? I am concerned about hydrocephalus and other abnormalities. I have a two year old boy that has always had a big head (90th percentile) but no developmental problems. This baby is a girl. Thanks for any information or advice as to what I sould do that you can give me.
