I was put on a diuretic (can't remember the drug) when my BP didn't drop low enough after delivery. When I got pg this time, my OB and GP switched me to Methyldopa instead. I think I take 500mg a day and that seems to work for me (at least so far). I haven't had any problems and the only thing that I do additionaly is see a Peri to monitor the size of the baby. (High BP can affect the growth of the fetus). I was seeing him monthly until this month when I start going every other week (I'm 30 weeks now).

In addition, the only thing that I do myself is monitor my BP at home twice a day. It certainly dropped during the 2nd trimester (completely normal), but it's been starting to climb back up a bit now that I'm in the 3rd trimester (also normal).

I also get to have NST's weekly starting in another week or 2.

Hope that answers any questions you might have!

Lisa
