Dr - dental work during pregnancy

Posted by emge-new on 20:00 4/19/2005:

I had 2 of my amalgam dental fillings removed when I was 4wks pregnant. I found out about my pregnancy the next day. I've read those controversery arguments regarding amalgam fillings during pregnancy.
I'm currently 8 wks pregnant and am very concerned.
Although my dentist used local freezing and used high vacuum suction and water spray during the process, could there be any risk on the fetus because of the freezing or the mercury vapor during removal?
thx.
