and I work on a maternity ward and there are other antibiotics that can be given. Where I work, you need to be treated 4 hours before you deliver, unless it's a c/s with no ruptured membranes (then no treatment is necessary). If you are not treated in time, we do b/w on the baby and most times they are fine.
Try not to worry. It's very common.
