From my experience I was told by 20 weeks there is little chance of the placenta moving. Placenta previa caused complete bedrest on my end. The placenta is low and covering the cervical opening so the larger the baby gets then the more the baby presses on the placenta which is his/her life line, oxygen and all. I think you are on the right path w/ gathering more information and getting a second opinion could be valuable. I went to a perinatologist who took a much more serious approach to me and my baby. He also seemed better able to explain the situation to us. Best of luck.
