Hi Nancy, thank you for your response. It turns out I do have mitral valve prolapse, but I'm not sure how that is linked to the high heart rate. May I ask what happened in your situation, like what you wound up doing about it? My doc said the only way to lower the heart rate is to take a beta blocker, but that will also lower blood pressure, which might not be a good thing, so I'm sort of back at square one.
