Hi Nancy,
Thank you again for your advice. When you said "heart function should be monitored pretty closely, so that you can be treated appropriately if it starts to get worse", how should they be doing that? Yesterday i finally got the cardiologist's opinion on the tests, along with the peri's and the OB's (yup, i do have all three). The cardio said no beta blockers unless gets worse (and by gets worse he meant shorteness of breath or feeling faint). The OB agreed, saying no need to lower my blood pressure since it's already low, the peri said he'd be fine with me taking the blockers if the cardio said to. So now i have a follow up in 2 weeks with the cardio, and i'll take it from there. I asked him if he thought another echocardiogram would be helpful another 2 months into the pregancy, and he said he didn't see a need. But I do wonder how in your case it went from a simple (and common) prolapse to near heart failure? Like what path it took? That must have been very scary to say the least. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts and experiences.
Wendy
