My daughter was diagnosed with HG, and she just delivered a baby girl 5 weeks early. She was MISERABLE for about 3 weeks (before the diagnosis). Her OB was stumped so he sent her to a Dermatologist, who was ALSO stumped. The Dermatologist took a biopsy and nailed it. Amy took 40 mg of Steroids a day, the only thing that would lessen the intense itching. The Dermatologist said she could "fake out" the nerves in her hands and feet by sticking them in icy cold water. It works for awhile. She flared back up after delivery and we've been told it will go away. Amy has no auto immune deficiency diseases that we know of, and information on this junk is scarce. Amy's OB has been delivering for 15 years and has never seen it. The baby was amazingly healthy. The steroids helped her lungs to develop stronger faster I guess, and also helped her to gain weight. She was born 6lbs 14oz, which is bigger than some full term babies. Good luck with your baby! I really hope it isn't this junk, all the info said that there was no mortality rate but it sure is a booger to endure!
