Hi Gail,

I just had a followup with my peri about my recent loss.

He happened to mention that he has had considerable success with PIO shots given weekly to women with prior (especially multiple) m/c's. He said he would recommend this for me next time. He says he would start no earlier than week 16 thru week ??? Apparently, progesterone is known to "quiet" the uterus and thus lessen the chance of early and unwanted contractions, which can lead to a pg loss.

We don't know if early contractions caused my PROM, but the weekly PIO definitely sound promising. As much as I hate PIO, at least these shots would only be once weekly.

gl and hugs,
anne
