dieting while preg. (preg. ment)

My friend was 40 lbs overwieght, was unsucessful w/ ivf, decided to stop ttc and loose weight. She lost 20 lbs in 2 months...potential problem is she just found out she is 10 wks preg. She is overjoyed, but concerned about the effects of the weight loss on the baby. She figured she lost all the weight while preg. (she missed her period 2 weeks ago, but her first missed period she did bleed, but it was light and she thought nothing of it - turns out she was pg)Anyway she obviously stopped dieting, there is a heartbeat, but she is worried about the damamges if any to baby, can you help?!?!? thank you
