1) All relate to placental abnormalities- such pregnancies may be compicated by bleeding, small babies, early delivery, etc


2) Changes in the serum may be due to things other than Trisomy- T18/T13 will look abnormal in virtually 100% of cases by 18-20 weeks- normal, targeted U/S would mean a much reduced risk

3) Amnio decision is yours- if you have to know the chromosomal make-up, this is the only test for you
