With my last pregnancy I was on 10mg of prednisone for the entire pregnancy, in response to a +ANA test of 1:320. My last test came back in December of 1:40, then I got pregnant in early January.
My RE put me on 40mg of Lovenox twice a day, in response to my history of mc's, and ANA, but not based on any thrombophilia testing. My ob is admittedly clueless about whether I should be on the Lovenox so he sent me to a maternal fetal meds Dr who said there is no test that can be done while you're pregnant, and I have NO personal or family history of blood clots, so I am at no risk for blood clots or ANY clotting issues. That neither my 8 combined years of infertility, my mc's nor my stillbirth are related in any way.
Now after the M-F Dr consulted her peers, they've decided I should stop the Lovenox for 6 days and then get tested for the thrombophilias.
Personally I fear that being off the Lovenox for 6 days is too long, if I have an issue. I understand it needs to be out of my system to test, but I'd like it to be as little time as possible. I understand the 1/2 life is about 12 hours. My RE is not available as he just had surgery.
Would it be a lower risk to just stay on the Lovenox for the duration of the pregnanct? Or to stop and start it again?
