Question about WBC during pregnancy
Posted by jojo74 on 15:24 10/24/2006:
I am currently 13w1d pregnant. My routine lab work shows a normal, but borderline WBC count of 4.2, but neutrophil count is low at 35% (1.48 absolute), and lymphocytes and eosinophils are high at 48.5% and 9% respectively. Both lymphocyte and eosinophil absolute counts are normal. I also have moderate decomposed WBC's. My understanding is that the neutrophil count is actually supposed to rise during pregnancy. Is this something significant enough that I should be concerned? It would appear to me to indicate some sort of autoimmune response, but not sure if that is correct. I do not get to see my MFS for another 5 weeks. Thanks in advance.
