Cervical funneling at 26 weeks

Hello,
I am 26 weeks pregnant and my cervix has started to funnel- length is stil 3.5 though. My doctor has advised extra rest and another ultrasound in a week.
1) Does this sound adequate or do I need bed rest?
2) How much of a predictor for preterm birth is funneling in the absence of any real cervical shortening?
