Questions.... Preterm labor, bedrest and then a venous thrombosis
At 32 weeks my sister was dilated 1.5 cm and her cervix measured 1.2cm long. She was admitted and placed on bedrest. Over a period of two weeks, she was given either Procardia or Terbutaline to stop her contractions. in the meantime her cervix dilated a little more to 4.5 cm but has stopped.
After two weeks of bedrest, she was diagnosed with a L leg venous thrombosis and placed on IV heparin.
My questions are the following:
Should she be seen by a high risk MD? (currently she has an OB and a vascular/clotting team)?
How should the delivery be orchestrated since she is on Heparin?
What are the risks to her and the baby since she has the clot and is on Heparin?
