Ultrasound Report

Posted by ttcwaldo2 on 18:25 4/4/2007:

I just completed my 5th IVF cycle...thankfully I got a BFP! However, I had my first u/s with peri and I'm very concerned about the future of this pregnancy. I was told that the gestational sac was very small (no yolk sac visible -- I was 5wk3d and that I had some type of mass on my uterus. I am 36 yrs old, blocked left tube and polycystic ovaries. DH has bad morphology - so we do ICSI. This is second pregnancy -- 4th IVF cycle (2005) ended at 20 wks due to placental abruption. Thrombophilia panel normal. Can you please tell me what you think about this report...what could the mass possible be? I have no history of fibroids. Had a hysterscopy done right before this cycle and it was good. With GSD of 5.8mm 13th% what does that really mean?

Report Summary:
Impression: A transvaginal ultrasound reveals a small midpositioned uterus in the midline. There is a small gestational sac visualized in the fundal portion of the uterus. There is no cardiac activity visualized at this time. There are early changes with the sac consistent with a gestational sac. The uterine cervix is intact and the uterine contour is smooth. The right adnexa appears solid and enlarged measuring around 6.4cm x 4.21 cm. The left adnexa is unremarkable.

Recommendations; we will obtain a quant HCG today along with the MTHFR. We will fu/u in 3—4 weeks for further assessments. We will recheck the rt. Adnexa and consider options including a gyn oncology consult.

...the quant hcg at 19dp5dt was 1440. Initial beta was 6dp5dt - 16; 8dp5dpt - 74

Thank you very much for your help.
