Question regarding Bleeding and FVL...(m/c, successful pg ment)......m

Posted by Janice7 on 10:11 12/1/2007:

Hi Doctor,

I am currently 7w4d pg with twins. I started bleeding at 7w1d (bright red but not really any clots) and on that day had an U/S. It was my second U/S. It showed both babies measuring at 7.1 weeks and had HB's of 139 and 145, up from 100 and 111 a week ago. There was no reason found for the bleeding. I've had 4 losses in the past. The last being that of a chromosomally normal boy. Recently, I was diagnosed with hetero Factor V Leiden and I am taking Lovenox 40mg and Baby Aspirin. Is there anything else I should be doing? Should my Lovenox dose be raised? Should I be monitored more than this? The bleeding had tapered but today is back to red spotting.
They scheduled my next U/S for 12 days after the last. I am still with my RE and don't see the peri until 12/17. In my past pregnancy which was ultimately successful I had a placental abruption at 16w. I thought that all these bleeding issues were because of the FVL and once that was treated with lovenox, the bleeding would be gone.

Thanks for any advice or guidance.

Janice
