Question regarding Sacrococcygeal Teratoma...

My girl friend's unborn baby was just diagnosed with what appears to be a growth on the outside of the buttock. She is VERY worried and I was hoping to hear some encouraging cases. She is due in May and will be having an MRI next week to confirm what exactly they are dealing with. What causes such a growth? Is this genetic? Thanks for any input.
