9.4 wk. u/s showed fluid behind the neck of one twin
Posted by Ree524 on 09:58 1/14/2008:
I had donor embryo transfer on 11/20 age of donor 29... one of the embryos split and I am pregnant with identical twins up until now everthing has been going good... good heart rate & both babies measuring the same... OBGYN sent me to a maternal/fetal specialist to check for membrane & there is one ... so the twins are mono/di BUT specialist said he is concerned with baby A there is alot fluid behind the neck and will most likely not make ... and sadley it can effect the other baby with severe brain damage!!!
Is there anyway that if baby A is sick and doesn't make that baby B will be okay?????
I am just so upset!! I went donor/embryo route to avoid chromosal problems (i am 44 yrs.) and a chance at a successful healthy baby... by the way donor donated her embryos bcause she had a successful pregnancy w/children.
Thank you for any info. you have to give!!
