It is so hard and you have already been through so much. It's good to have advice from family who know and also cant hurt to get a second opinion if that is at all possible. My loss was with an OB and once I switched to my peri, I really felt much more secure. It sounds like you are doing some great research and really thinking this through. No doubt a difficult decision, but much better to make it well informed as you are.
