IUD failed, now struggling

Posted by warmby on 23:58 2/11/2008:

Hi all,

My wife is currently 8 weeks pregnant with our 4th child. The pregnancy came in spite of an IUD that had been in only four weeks, and which, having looked at the IUD manufacturer website, should not have been placed at all, considering my wife has a bifurcated uterus, and is, based on the company's clear statement "not a candidate for IUD placement."

Anyway, although it will be a huge adjustment, we're happy about the baby. The problem is this: My wife has never had a moment of pregnancy sickness. She's 30 years old, and our youngest is 3 and 1/2 years old. She's in excellent health. Since she found out she's pregnant, (about 3 weeks ago), she's struggled horribly with dizziness, nausea, and very severe headaches. Tylenol does nothing.

My worry is that the IUD is somehow causing this. The doctor says it won't, but frankly, based on his history, I'm not sure I trust him much, if at all.

Any advice, beyond getting a new doc? :)
