Hypertension and kidney issues

Posted by paytonsmom2006 on 20:13 2/26/2008:

I had a very very difficult pregnancy with our almost 2 year old. Pretty much my body freaked out! I have chronic hypertension and then had pregnancy induced tacycrardia *spelling*, hyper thryoidism, low amniotic fluid, elevated white count from 28 weeks on, and at the end low blood flow to the placenta. I was induced at 38 weeks.

I am newly newly pregnant, roughly 5 weeks. Unfortunately, in the last 6 months I have had 3 UTI's which have spread upwards to my kidneys, 2 of which landed me in the hospital. I am on an antibiotic (Microdantin) along with a long list of other meds.

I know this kidney issue raises the "high risk" bar. My RE suggested seeing a nephrologist ASAP though my Primary Care felt I could stay on the profilactic antibiotic and see one after the birth.

Anyone have experience this?
