I lost my first pregnancy at 24 weeks and am now diagnosed with an incompetent cervix. I have been told by my current GYN/OB that I will need a cerclage at 12-14 weeks. My question is - Is this something my GYN/OB can do as well as monitor me throughout the entire pregnancy or do I need a perinatologist? I should say I feel very comfortable with my doctor and she has said she will not feel slighted in the least should I decide on a specialist.
