Help! Can anyone shed some light on my falling betas ?

I am now 9w2d. Last Tues. my beta level was
129,000. Two days later, on Thurs., the level was
120,000. I nearly freaked out and called my physician, who allowed me to come in for an u/s.
Everything looked okay and they asked me to stop
having my betas done.

Yesterday, my beta level was 116,000. Could I have
just plateaued early at 8weeks ? Everything I have
read states that the hcg plateau shouldn't happen
until 9-10 weeks at the earliest.

Previous to my falling betas, I did have three good
ultrasounds that showed appropriate growth with
a good fetal heart rate.

Does anyone know if it is possible to plateau so early.
My next ultrasound is not scheduled until next Wed.
and I am very anxious and nervous.

If I did have a M/C, would my betas drop this slowly,
or would they drop more quickly ?
