Over the last months I have received several patient questions where women have examined the cervix themselves.
There is no data that I am aware of that shows it's safe to do it in pregnancy, and I can image that it could do more harm than good.
Going with your finger into the cervix (you say it was open) may potentially induce an infection.
I suggest you discuss this with your doctor.
