    Default Bedding Question

What are these things that are on the end of beds now? I can't seem to figure it out--Typical throws don't go from end to end on a king size bed. Do they have a special name? They are in the hotels, and they look nice, but do they have a purpose?

Useless pretty things like the millions of pillows you can buy and comforters you don't actually use for sleeping.

It might be used to put your luggage on while you unpack. To keep the bed clean.

    Default I had assumed

they were to keep people's shoes off the bed linnens in hotels. That is the only place I've seen them. But then you know what happens when you assume. My girls fight to sleep under them when we stay at a hotel.
