Default question for the doctor(or jump in if you have the answer)

I recently had a miscarriage and my doctor didn't really say anything about this, but I have heard others say that their doctors recommend waiting one full cycle before trying to conceive again. I am just wondering what the rationale is for this and if someone does ovulate sometime before their next period and becomes pregnant..what is the problem?

There mostly likely will not be a problem, but we like to have one normal period just to make sure that the lining of the uterus has regenerated. Dr. Coulam
