    Default Washed Sperm Longevity

I underwent an IUI recently. I was triggered on 2/13 and then inseminated with my husband's washed sperm 26 hours later. I think I ovulated that evening but am not sure. Do the sperm wait in the Fallopian tube or could they swim out into the abdominal cavity? Does the cilia in the tube keep them there? Thanks

    Default Sperm Longevity

After 6 IUI's I'm still not 100% sure on this one, but here's what my doctor has told me. With an IUI, the sperm are placed directly in the uterus and begin swimming. Some will swim out into the abdominal cavity, yes, but plenty will stay where they are supposed to or still be traveling in the tube when the egg is released. I've always had my IUI's around 24 hours after trigger, so it sounds like your timing is perfect, good luck!
