Default Question about Science & Older Eggs

If science has really made progress then why cant science help a woman in her mid 40s to get pregnant using own eggs i.e if she doesn't get pregnant by fluke naturally.

Good question but not a lot of progress in this problem. A woman's eggs are held in suspended animation from the time she is born until the cycle that they get ready to grow and ovulate. Over a lifetime the eggs are exposed to ionizing radiation and other environmental toxins that damage the apparatus that separates the chromosomes prior to fertilization. This damage leads to extra or missing chromosomes in the now fertilized egg and that is "ballgame" as my Dad used to say....Men are constantly making new sperm in the testicles....women are not.

    Good luck
