    Default Happy Miriam news!

Two VERY cool things have happened recently.

First, we got our back yard fenced! Miriam is SUCH a runner, and won't stop for anything once she gets going. We kept hoping that she'd grow out of it, but no such luck... So we needed a nice solid expensive fence that she wouldn't climb, to enclose a big back yard. Fortunately we learned that by virtue of being stuck on our state's waiting list for intensive autism therapy, we were eligible to apply for a grant toward the cost. We ended up getting the grant, to the tune of half the cost of the fence, which was installed yesterday!!!

And THEN, just a bare two weeks or so after the award notice came, we got the news that we had arrived at the top of the waiting list, almost 2 months before we expected it! Miriam's therapy team is being assembled, and we're on track to start later this month with a schedule of 28 hours per week.

AND, they're honoring the grant anyway. Only think, though, two weeks later and we'd have not been eligible for those funds.

We had a pretty rough winter and early spring. It's nice to have some very good things happening for summer!

Looking forward to not having to do backyard wind sprints,
    Joanne
& Miriam, who just turned 4

Love when things turn your way! It's like winning the lottery, huh? How wonderful for your peace of mind. I didn't even know grants like that existed, good find!

And, 28 hours a week??? Wow! So hoping the intensive treatment will make a huge impact for ALL of you!!

    Many hugs! N
