As far as the symptoms getting better when you lose weight--I may be an oddity but I am in the normal weight range for my height and I can't tell one lick of difference in my symptoms from 25 lbs ago to now.

Yeah I really thought about getting a second opinion for me its a little hard I don't have insurance at the moment I am native american and my health stuff is thru them I don't pay for it. But the only way you get referred out is if it is considered a medical emergency or a determent to your health and they don't consider this one there is another facility I have thought about going too its another clinic thru the indians It is just a process and it took me so long to get to this one lol that actually told me what it was. When I was 18 I was hospitalized and almost bled to death and still they didn't know what it was I know that was 10 years ago but you would think!!!! and I agree with you I can never tell a difference when I lose weight I mean of course I feel better but as far as my symptoms they still seem to be there I don't know. I would like to go see an endocranoligist I have heard they specialize in this sort of thing. I also need to start a normal everyday exercise work out It would make me feel much better I know! I have a 9 year old step son and he wants the wii fit I thought about that I played my friends son's and it is a work out but fun at the same time!! Thats what my sister did and she lost over 100 lbs in the last year she looks great and she also had the same signs of PCOS although she was never diagnosed, But she tells me now her symptoms are gone she has normal periods and everything!! So maybe there is hope. I am sorry You have to go thru so much. I really don't know much about them I am still learning everyday, I don't have some of the other symptoms of PCOS tho like the hair growth and things but I have a few of the other ones. sorry I get to yapping and Im like a tornado lol

Well I can definitely understand not getting another opinion without insurance. I got my endo. diagnosis after a 2nd opinion (My 1st gyn did not think I had it) And I didn't get a diagnosis on something else 9my bladder) till the 4th dr. Where were you bleeding? I agree with the weight loss, generally you feel better. I guess I wouldn't have periods without hormones. I see an RE and they do help with the PCOS. I have the Wii fit!!!!! My grandmother got me the wii for Christmas and my dad gave me the wii fit. I LOVE it. The only reason I haven't done it lately is because of the wretched week I had from the pain with the endo. There is always hope!!!! Be thankful you don't have the hair growth. It's not very pretty. Mine is worst on my belly. I yap too don't worry about it!

I can understand that with the pain and all, I'm sorry! I had bled like a period for three months and also had pneumonia on top of it from my blood being so low I had lost so much they gave me a blood transfusion it was crazy. I really do want a wii fit I got a wii for christmas as well from my mother-in-law I love it in general!!! I haven't had a period to date since june of last year, But in the last week I have had signs that its coming and it always scares me cause once it starts it doesn't stop unless I go and take this shot its the only thing that stops it but it also stops my chances of getting pregnant for another 6 months which I guess is not an option right now anyway, but it always depresses me so bad!! I really don't know all the meds out there and things I could bring to my Dr.s eye but usually they just turn me down and tell me to lose the weight I have done the clomid and metformin before but they won't do that right now either. So what do they do to help you? and here is I'm sure a stupid question but I have seen it alot on these blogs what is an RE? lol

A blood transfusion??? That's crazy bad! What kind of shot do you take? To help me have periods I take Provera and have taken Megace in the past (not sure about spelling on either one) for 10 days and when I stop taking it Voila I have a period. The other people I know stay on Metformin as well (I don't take it) I know it's depressing. It's an emotional roller coaster for sure. My new gyn. suggested geting on the south beach diet or adkins diet and trying to lose some weight might jump start my ovulation. My RE ( by the way that means reproductive endocronologist There are a lot of acronyms out there I have yet to figure out don't feel bad!) said I could lose some weight if I wanted to but it wasn't going to make a difference. In my particuar case, I lost the weight and it didn't matter. I'm trying to think of other things people I know with PCOS have done and I'm drawing blanks right now. I do know that before they were put on Metformin they had a fasting glucose level checked and it was abnormal. (Mine was normal) I have a friend who lost a lot of weight, took Metformin and Clomid and it worked for her. You never know!

Yeah I was given 4 pints of blood and was in the hospital for 14 days!!! and really the bleeding I do have has become a normal life style anymore. As far as emotions i feel like a nut case alot of the time. and the metformin its weird I hear alot of people talk they take it regularly and I didn't understand why he didn't keep me on it but that was in between switching doctors as well but I have asked since then and he said I just need to lose the weight which always gets to me cause everytime i go I know what its gonna be and just makes it worse. The shot I take is one of the depo provera but its a different one the way he explained it to me it was a new one they came out with, it has less of the effect to gain weight like the other ones. See thats why I did the adkins cause all the stuff I read says that carbs are a big help when you cut them out for people with PCOS. I am hoping that I can lose the weight and keep it off this time and he will start me on them again!!! But I like this site it really does help I learn things and meet new people. Thats really good that they have meds that keep you regular. But on those days for the periods is that when you hurt and things. as far as the endometriosis? I'm sure thats hard on you mentally and physically( sorry don't mean to be depressing)

How long would it take to get in to see the other doctor you talked about? I know you said you have to get approved right? I'm not familiar with the way it works through the Native American end of things. Everyone talks about cutting the carbs helping PCOS so hopefully this will work for you! I'll say a prayer for you! Maybe you should ask if there is something different besides that shot he could give you. I don't know if you have or not but you can ask questions to the moderators on the inciid boards (they are dr.'s). There is another board specifically for infertility related to PCOS. I have asked NUMEROUS questions and they always answer quickly. You may have to give them more specifics on the situation to get a better answer. If you don't want anything that specific posted you can always send them the details in a private message.

As far as the hurting, I think normally people hurt during their period that have endometriosis. I hurt everday for a long time. Now I do have random days when I feel better than others. There is always some pain there. But when my period comes it is excruciating. And it gets worse every month. Not trying to spin a sad story here but the pain is unbearable without medication. Mentally I think my husband has it worse during that time!!!LOL

Well I could go to another Indian facility pretty quickly its just a matter of getting all of my paperwork together but to get to see an outside facility would be a little harder unless I get insurance which I am working on but my husband got laid off a few months back and so He just got another job so we are working on that! And to go outside I would have to have insurance or get approval!! I have asked several times for something different as far as meds I have asked for so long all I get is to lose the weight which is why I am getting my paper work together to talk to another doctor cause I really can't get any help here and I would like to get another opinion or at least a little more help in the matter!!! Every thing I have learned I searched myself really!!~I will have to try one of the other boards as well I thought about it but was really new to this whole thing so hadn't yet!!

I am sorry you have to hurt so much I will also say a prayer for you as well!!! And never apologize I like hearing others stories as well I felt like I was doing all the talking made me feel bad!! and I know how the husband thing mine has suffered alot I am so crazy some times I go from happy to sad then mad in zero point five I feel so nuts sometimes and I used to think I was till I done some research on this stuff its a wonder we don't lose our minds lol!!

Good luck with the insurance. As much as I have to go to the dr., we would be in trouble without my husband's insurance. That's great news he found another job. Is there an Indian facility that has someone that deals with infertility? Or a different Indian facility with an ob/gyn you haven't seen yet? Even if there's not I would think another opinion would help you. I know you're sick of hearing its the weight, its the weight.

Never feel bad about talking. Everyone hear is going through their own version of something. I'm kinda bonkers too. My hormones are definitely off kilter this morning. I thought of some song I hadn't thought of in years and the tears started rolling. Talk about nuts! I leave for the dr. in an hour. Wish me luck!

Good luck at the doctor!! Hope you get some good news! I know how the crying thing is I love music and I always seem to find a song that just breaks my heart lol!! The guy I see now at the hospital is supposed to be a specialist but not really one dealing in infertility I am gonna try to get in to see the other one soon I need to call and find out if they have a specialist up at the other one or not both facilities are at least an hour away so its a drive lol!! Yeah I mean deep down I know the weight contributes most of it , it is just depressing to hear the same thing and feel like I am being scolded they act like I don't try and I do each time i will have lost about 20 lbs or so but they just tell me I need to lose more and I do gain it back in little bits at a time and I do try but it does get hard everything is so exspensive anymore just to eat right and I am a veggie lover but still even thats high but usually starting in spring I grow my own garden so that helps summer I usually lose alot of weight but for some reason winter kicks my butt lol!!I don't know about others but I gain weight real fast and I really don't change that much as far as eating habbits but oh well!! Again tho all prayers going out to you for your doctor visit I really hope they help you!!Is this visit just a check up or are they doing something specific today?
