    Smile Hey there

Hi. I just joined inciid today, I thought it might be a good place to get some support. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but I will start here. I was diagnosed with PCOS about 5 years ago. My hubby and I actively tried to get pregnant for 3 of those. After the third year we started talking about adoption and are now about 8 months into that process. I am still hoping to conceive at some point, but don't wish to try fertility treatments just yet. Adopting a child into our family feels like the right path at this time and point. I still do have my triggers though, which is why it's so great to find a place like this!

Welcome. How are you being treated for the PCOS? I have to take a combo of Met XR (2000 mg a day) and use the nuvaring to get my cycles and hormones in order.

I have adopted twin boys who are almost 5 1/2. They were born in FL. It wasn't my PCOS that prevented my conceiving but it was uterine scarring. That was diagnosed as cleared when they were 3 months old and I was shockingly able to conceive my 4 1/2 yr old dd at that time. The doctor monitored my cycles and gave me a trigger shot to induce ovulation.

You haven't tried any IF treatments yet?

    Default Cool....(child mentioned)

I have no idea how I just found this board, or if I'll ever find my way back...but, I've been dealing w/ PCOS for the past 20 yrs or so. I have 1 DS7 who was concieved w/ Met, Clomid, Profasi injection and 2 IUI and Prometrium support. I feel very fortunate to have him, and there are times I feel bad that I never had more children.

Currently I take 850mg Met 3x per day, and 2 shots of Byetta 5mcg. I am glucose impaired, but not Diabetic yet. I've lost 63# over the last 3 yrs, and have a lot more to go.

I had a terrible problem w/ heavy bleeding that lasted for months at a time, and kept me from really living and being carefree. I had an endometrial ablation to deal with that approx 3 yrs ago as well, and it was a great decision for me.

I am not TTC, however, am glad to share my own experience(s), and will cheerlead the rest of you trying to build your families...however you decide to do it.

    Best Wishes

Hey. I'm still totally confused by these boards. I don't actually take any western meds to help with my PCOS. My gyno offered me metformin or the option of clomid to help with conceiving, however I decided that it wasn't something I wanted to do. I still believe somewhere down inside I can get pregnant naturally, I may feel differently in a few years, but for now it feels like the right choice. I do take herbs though, a combo of vitex, serona and oplapanex. I have an incredible herbalist that has a lot of experience working with balancing women's hormones. I managed to get my cycles coming between 30-50 days, much better than the previous 3-4 times per year period appearance. About 4 months ago I started working with a yoga instructor who showed me specific poses (also to help regulate the cycle), since then I've gotten my period pretty regularly (under 32 days). So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I'm totally confused. Why aren't my posts showing up? I type things out in the quick reply and then they disappear into cyber-space.

I'm here, don't post here often at all, but I think I may now.

I was dx with PCOS many, many years ago.

We have an adopted son, Nick who is 7, a bio son, Nolan who is 5, twin 4 year old girls Noelle and Nicolette, and a 15 month old son, Nathaniel. My bio boys were conceived while on met, the girls were conceived during active fertility treatments. We are currently in the 2ww ttc #6.

I just started back on met about 3 months ago. I was off during my pg with Nathan, and for the first year of his life while bf'ing. I'm still bf'ing, but only 3 times a day, so the doctor agreed that it would be safe to begin taking again. I've lost 12.5 lbs in the past 3 months, with still another 10-15 to go for me to be completely happy with my weight. With still nursing Nathan, I think our chances of ttc are pretty darn slim. We won't pursue any further treatment because I refuse to take anymore time away from my life with ttc. We ttc for over 8 years before the adoption and I just don't want to do that again. We are very open to adopting again though too and that is also an option for us. I always wanted a big family and this is completely a dream come true for us.

As for how we're doing, simply busy most of the time. Actually gotta run now to visit the school for 3 of the kids. I'm trying to volunteer in the classroom this year now that I'm not as busy at home

    Hugs,
    Kelly

    Hello,
I just recently joined Inciid. I have been diagnosed with PCOS. We have been TTC for the past two years. We conceived once on Clomid but I had a miscarriage. We are going to try a cycle of injectables. Good luck to everyone.

    Hi everyone,

I am a new member to INCIID. My husband and I have been trying to concieve for 2 years. I have been diagnosed with PCOS. Shortly thereafter, my doctor discovered that I was born without a left ovary and fallopian tube. So I have somewhat of a double disability. Just trying to stay positive these days. Your support is greatly appreciated!
