Default Its been years since I posted on here pg, m/c and childr. ment)...

I went through ttc on the bbt BB here back in 1998-2000! Im married again and having m/c's again. Im finding it very difficult to handle the hormonal swings that come from the repeat pregnancies and m/c's. I think Im getting ready to m/c again today as Im teary and irritable. I had a 7 week m/c last summer and another this past summer and then 2 more this fall (basically when AF was due) and now this one is one week late with disappearing lines on test stick. Its a hassle to gain weight each month bc of food cravings and have sore boobs only to m/c every time. With each new craving I get so excited that maybe this is the month it will stick around and then slowly the symtpoms disappear and irritability and headches and teariness set it... then AF.

Any advice on how to keep coping month to month like this? When I was younger I didnt have the symptoms become so intense until it was a pregnancy that worked (like with my 2 kids I do have and feel so blessed to have had). How do you deal with the unrealized hope month in month out?

I am not an expert, in terms of a psychologist; however, I feel that I have gone through so many disappointment in my infertility journey. It has been difficult, both emotionally, physically, and financially. The only thing that has helped me is prayer. I have talked to others on the board, but prayer just seems to help me cope. I am hopeful one day that I will be able to conceive. I have to have faith and be hopeful, in order to survive this journey. I know from experience that it is not easy to be hopeful, especially with have multiple failures in IU and IVF; however, I make a point of analyzing things and concentrating on the good.

This may be a dumb question, but are you under the care of an RE? It just sounds like you aren't because it doesn't sound like you are getting blood tests done? If you aren't, I highly recommend you become a patient. It could be something that is fixable like progesterone injections for the first 12 weeks. To go through any loss is horrible, I just couldn't imagine going through as many as you have. Hopefully you live in an area that has an RE nearby.

    (( HUGHS )) to you!

I am really so sorry to hear you are having miscarriages again. Mine are all still very real even after many years. As you know we all handle things a little differently. One thing that is unfortunately still very real is the medical care for women who have multiple miscarriages. While there has been some progress very often OB/GYNs just don't have the information to help us both cope and get to the root of the problem.
One thing I think you absolutely need to do is read the fact sheet entitled "Immunology may be key to pregnancy loss". Have you have any blood work run on the causes of your losses? If not the article I mentioned will be helpful. I don't want to go into the science of this right now when you are in such emotional pain but instead to tell you that we are here for you.

INCIID is hosting a webinar with Dr. Ali Domar on the December 7, from 12-1 PM Eastern Time (Lunch time). You may remember Ali used to host the Emotional Issues forum before Liz O'Donnell. I think if you can come, she may have some really good mind body suggestions for you.
I think you need to put yourself first - and give yourself lots of self-care right now. As moms it can be hard to do that but you really need to surround yourself with kind, caring people right now and try to live in the moment and not think too much about the what ifs. Try to take each day as it comes. And try to keep your kids close with lots of extra hugs.

The other suggestion is to go to Dr. Coulam's forum - she still answers questions for us and see what she thinks you might do to find out the causes of your losses.
    Sending you a virtual hug.
    Nancy
