    Default Victory.

Wow. 2 years I fought a good fight. Today I got the call that my son will *finally* get services. I am relieved and need a really, really good cry.

You never gave up, and now he'll have the opportunity to succeed.

Good for you! Go have a good soak in the tub and pat yourself on the back (and shed a few tears too!)

Default Great job!! I am so proud of you for NOT giving up!

It gets so tiring "raging against the machine" - I feel the whole process is demeaning - and exhausting!

Good for you for persisting, and advocating for your son! Stay on top of them, and make sure they do what they're supposed to!!

My only piece of advice - make sure whatever services are schedule, he is not pulled out of reading and math! (Leela was pulled out several times a week for reading and math for OT and PT, not a good solution!)...

Many, many heartfelt hugs to you!! N

    Default Thanks everyone

I feel so incredibly relieved today. Yesterday I had so much going on and my head was spinning. Today it sank in, he's getting help. I know there will still be many fights ahead, but he's "in" which means it is easier to fight. In our school district, getting "in" is the hardest part.

And absolutely spot on, when Nancy said this process is demeaning and exhausting. I think this is the hardest thing I have ever done.

I'm glad I didn't back down. I think good things are ahead for DS now that he will receive OT support.

Thank you everyone for your kindness, knowledge and support. I couldn't have done it without you guys.
