    Default I need a direction.

Hi, My name is Lydia and I am 29. I have a soon to be 3 year old daughter. I have Crohn's disease. When I conceived my daughter, I was in unmedicated remission. It took me about 6 months to conceive her.

I have been trying to get pregnant with #2 since Oct 09. I have have 4 pregnancies that all ended before reaching 5 weeks. I also had a severe crohns flare in that time. None of the pregnancies happened while I was flaring. I am in remission now and have been since starting remicade in March 2010. Three of my losses occured since starting the remicade.

When I told my GI this he tested me for Lupus anticoagulant and anti-cardiolipin. Both came back normal. I have a referral to a OB/GYN but I wont get in till July. (The waiting lists can be long in Canada and specialists are pretty spread out) My cycles are regular, with a 13 day luteal phase.

Could it be the remicade? Could it be my immune system or that I need medication for my remission?

What are some questions I can ask the OB?

    Thanks in advance.

You should ask your doctor about the role of autoimmunity in reproductive failure and treatment with ivig. Dr. Coulam

It depends on the cause of the miscarriage. It is better to find out why the miscarriages are occurring so that specific treatment can be recommended. Dr. Coulam
